Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on November 18, 1985 in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix discovered early that she had an aptitude to run when she was a student at Los Angeles Baptist High School. At her first attempt she was ranked in the top two at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships, for 200-meter sprint in only 10 weeks. Felix finished high school in 2003 and signed with Adidas to become professional athlete. The following year she attended University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics In Athens Greece. Felix ran 200 meters in 22.18s which set a new junior world record. She was the youngest participant in the 200 meters during the World Championships in Helsinki in the year 2005. She was able to defend her record the following year, by beating long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix participated at the Olympics at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo consistently placing within the top three of her events.
